Fisher Paykel washing machines are starting to become more and more popular in the USA.  Fisher Paykel washing machines do have several common repair issues.  One of the more common is the error code #37. Pump blocked is what the error code #37 means. Usually a very simple repair even if the pump needs to be replaced. The drain motor on Fisher Paykel washers in located on the bottom of the washing machine in the front right corner.

If your Fisher Paykel has the error code number 37 the drain motor will need to be removed and the impeller and housing will need to be cleaned. With the washing machine tipped back against the wall you will be able to remove and clean the debris inside you washer drain motor.

The drain pump is mounted to the underside and is locked into position with a plastic tab.  Simply push the tab over and the drain motor will rotate and drop out of the bottom of the washer.  Its best to bail as much water from the washer before the drain motor is removed. When the drain motor drops out any water left inside the washer will pour out.  Either have a lot of towels ready or bail the water first.

if the pump looks like it has been leaking replace it before the machine controller shorts outs. The new pump on some of the Fisher Paykel washer will come with a line fuse.  The washer drain pump leaks through the bearing and will short the motor out.  When the drain motor shorts out it can and often does short the washing machines control board at the same time.  There is no error code for this issue as the washer will not even power up.
